Hello! I know I’ve been a little absent, but I’ve been taking some time to simply enjoy my horse. Cash and I went on our first camping trip together this weekend! It was only one night, but it was a great way to get our “hooves” wet and see if camping is for us.
We have a trip coming up in October where we will be camping multiple nights. After this weekend I’ve realized that I need to pack a lot better! Lol.
Van Buren’s horse camp was very impressive. My favorite part was the horse corrals included with every campsite! It gave me peace of mind overnight knowing he was in a pen rather than on a tie line. If you’re anywhere near Van Buren, OH I highly recommend checking this park out! Camping does require a two night minimum. Since we only planned on staying one night, I booked two and just didn’t show up til the second night.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and got in around 16 miles total. The scenery was beautiful, and the terrain was the perfect combination of flat areas and steep slopes.
By our third ride, Cash was really enjoying sprinting up the slopes! I usually let him as I know it’s easier, despite that small fear that I have over him tripping. My ornery old man decided to throw in a few bucks on one of our last hills! He loves to keep me on my toes.
I know I usually share a lot more details, but even this one night camping trip was exhausting! So instead, please enjoy our lovely pictures!
